Anonymous asked: Best foundation for beginners? I have combination skin and I'm looking for a light/medium coverage with a matte finish. I went to sephora and an associate recommended the Nars tinted moisturizer and I felt as though it made me oiler than anything.

I like full coverage foundations but if you want something for combination skin, i would recommend the NARS Sheer Matte. It’s been one of my holy grail foundations for years. Also,Urban Decay’s Naked foundation is fantastic. L’Oreal True Match for drugstore and if you want a good powder, I would go with Revlon’s Nearly Naked or Lancome’s Dual Finish. I heard the Lancome powder has mineral oil in it but it doesn’t make me any oilier and it’s never broken me out and I have acne prone skin. I’m a huge fan of MAC’s Studio Fix Powder but it can be a bit heavier. You should invest in Urban Decay’s De Slick. It’ll keep you matte and it really helps if you feel like you’ve piled on too much powder.

I know this is an extremely short list of things I’ve been enjoying but honestly, I’ve been using the same makeup every day and I haven’t made any huge purchases in over a month. I might be boring now but I’m damn proud of myself.
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre - Chanel gets a really bad rep for making ‘old lady’ perfumes. I don’t know why. Most of their products are really youthful but sophisticated. Even their classic Coco is fantastic. It’s spicy and rich. Eau Tendre is probably in my top 3 fragrances of all time. It smells fantastic on me which is surprising because my body chemistry makes everything really bland and soap like. With notes of Jasmine, White Musk & Grapefruit, this scent is perfect for Spring and Summer. It’s light and airy, flirty but not cheap. I don’t think Chanel can make anything seem cheap though. If you’re into fresh, playful scents, you might really enjoy this. I recommend this to people who like Marc Jacobs Daisy or Versace Bright Crystal but want something with a little more zest. You should definitely give this smell next time you’re in a Macy’s or Nordstrom.
MAC Gingerly Blush - I was using this blush for about two weeks straight without even checking the name and when I finally did, i was surprised I even had it. I’m a hoarder you see, I forget I have things all the time. I would describe Gingerly as a peach with a tan or an apricot that’s sun kissed. I think this shade would look fantastic on someone with light to medium skin that wants to look like they’re glowing. It’s extremely blendable and easy to apply. Also if you’re heavy handed, have no fear! It’s almost impossible to pile too much of this stuff on.
Tove Lo - I’ve been obsessed with this woman for the past year. When she released her EP Truth Serum, I was all over it. When I found out she was coming to Seattle, I jumped at the chance to see her. Tove Lo is raw and honest. She writes about her life — the good and bad. You get it all with her, there’s no holding back. Most of the time it’s hard to really connect with an artist but I find her extremely relatable. Personally I’ve never dealt with drugs or any real heartbreak but I can relate to pain. I saw her in concert about a week and a half ago and it was honestly one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. I was actually in the front row! She’s interactive and fun. If I could recommend only 3 songs but her, I would check out Out Of Mind, The Way That I am and Stay High but her whole album is fantastic.

It’s so easy to forget all the reasons why you’re bad for me.

I’m not too sure if you can tell but I’m really excited about my new frames 👓💁

Okay I helped this lady with finding fragrances for her brother and friends. I showed her YSL L’Homme and she bought it, then she bought Dior Poison so I found some free gifts for her. She asked me if they made a Poison for men so I told her I would look it up in the system and I even googled it for her. Then she asked me what my favorite fragrances for women were and I showed her roses de Chloe, Chanel Chance eau Tendre and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. She was like I’ll take the small bottle of Mademoiselle. She paid for it and right before she left, she took the Mademoiselle out of the bag and handed it to me. She was like this is for you, thank you for your service. I was like wtf??! Oh I can’t accept this and she was like no, please I insist. Please take it and bounced out the door. I’m so shocked at her generosity, I’m seriously floored by it. SHE BOUGHT ME A $100 BOTTLE OF PERFUME. I have to adopt another little boy on Tanzania or like the Philippines man. I have to pay it forward. #STILLSHOCKED

You’re an idiot if you didn’t think I would find out.
